State Bank of India (SBI) is one of the banks offering a wide range of banking services to people across the globe. The SBI has been conducting an examination every year in order to recruit Indian eligible candidates for the post of a Probationary Officer (PO).
The candidate has to fill an online application form to apply for the exam. This year, the Common Written Test will be held on 11th April, 2010.
This article is written as a guide for the candidates who are preparing for the first-time.
Eligibility
The following are the criteria to appear for the exam:
a) Educational qualifications
- General category candidates need to have a minimum of 60% marks in XII and 50% marks in Graduation or Post-graduation.
- SC/ST candidates need to have 55% marks in XII and 50% marks in Graduation or Post-graduation.
- Candidate must be computer literate.
b) Age limit
The age limit of the candidate must not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years.
Selection Process
The selection process for SBI PO Recruitment has the following phases:
1) Written Test for 250 marks
The Written test has two papers namely Objective for 200 marks and Descriptive for 50 marks. The Objective test has the following sections:
i. Test of English Language
ii. Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
iii. Test of Data Analysis and Interpretation
iv. Test of Reasoning (High Level)
2) Group Discussion and Interview for 50 marks
